RILWAN ADEDUNTAN

Rilwan Adeduntan is a veteran trial attorney and leader who joined Baron & Budd, P.C. as a Shareholder in January 2026. A prominent national plaintiffs’ firm headquartered in Dallas, Baron & Budd is renowned for handling high-profile, complex litigation involving corporate misconduct and consumer protection. Mr. Adeduntan spearheads the firm’s presence in Massachusetts, serving as the strategic lead for regional filings, including class actions, antitrust matters, and Qui Tam cases. While a key member of the firm’s national Opioid Litigation Group, his practice leverages nearly twenty years of experience to address a broad spectrum of corporate fraud and systemic wrongdoing.

Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Adeduntan served for more than seventeen years as a federal and state prosecutor. His career is defined by significant leadership roles within the U.S. Department of Justice, including serving as the Chief of the Narcotics and Money Laundering Unit and District Opioid Coordinator for the District of Massachusetts. In the Southern District of Florida, he served as Deputy Chief of both the International Narcotics and Money Laundering Section and the Major Crimes Section. His public service also extends to the executive branch, where he served as Special Counsel to the Office of Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker, overseeing the Governor’s Drug Lab Task Force. With over 60 jury trials to verdict, Mr. Adeduntan has managed some of the country’s most complex criminal matters, ranging from multi-count racketeering and money laundering indictments to sophisticated financial crimes, cyber intrusions, and espionage.

A firm believer that the law is a tool for accountability, Mr. Adeduntan is deeply committed to the craft of lawyering and the mentorship of the next generation. He is a prominent figure in teaching trial advocacy, serving as visiting faculty for programs at Harvard Law School, Emory University School of Law, and the University of Miami School of Law. He also contributes to the governance of legal education as a member of the Board of Trustees for New England Law | Boston. His dedication to professional excellence and mentorship has been recognized with the U.S. Attorney’s Office Mentor of the Year Award and the Florida Gang Investigator’s Association Prosecutor of the Year Award.

Mr. Adeduntan holds a J.D. from New England Law | Boston and a B.A. in Criminal Justice from the University of Georgia. An active leader in the legal community, he currently serves as Chair of the Boston chapter of the National Black Prosecutors Association.
