Raquel Webster

Biography

Raquel is currently a senior commercial litigation attorney at National Grid, where she represents the Company in legal proceedings and advises clients regarding a broad range of litigation matters.  Prior to working at National Grid, Raquel was a litigation attorney at the City of Boston Law Department, where she represented the city in state and federal court and before administrative agencies in all stages of litigation involving civil rights, employment discrimination and tort law.  Raquel also spent seven years as a litigation attorney at a large law firm in Boston. Raquel is very active in the legal community and has served on many non-profit boards.  In addition to the MBLA, she is currently on the board of directors for the following organizations: Boston Bar Foundation; Northeastern University School of Law Alumni Association; and Stone House.  Raquel was also an appointed member of Governor Healey’s and Lt. Governor Driscoll’s Advisory Council for the Advancement of Representation in Education.

Raquel has received numerous awards, including: Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly In-House Leader for 2023 Award; Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly Top Women of the Law Award;  Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly Excellence in the Law Award for “Up & Coming Lawyers”;  and the Boston Business Journal “40 Under 40” Award.  Raquel has also participated in many leadership development programs, including: Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Fellows Program; The Partnership Inc.’s Next Generation Executives Program;  MA Women’s Bar Association Women’s Leadership Initiative Program;  Boston Bar Association Public Interest Leadership Program; the Stakeholder 100 Leadership Program;  The Partnership, Inc.’s Fellows Program; and the Boston Chamber of Commerce Women’s Leadership Program. 

Raquel is a Hearing Officer for the Boston Board of Bar Overseers, a Case Reviewer for the Department of Children and Families and a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.  She is the proud mother of two boys, and in her spare time, enjoys attending her sons’ football and basketball games, reading, traveling and singing gospel music.
